Things to do in La Graciosa: beaches, Montaña Amarilla and diving

Looking for accommodation in La Graciosa 2 minutes from the port? La Graciosita is a Canarian house for up to 5 guests in Caleta de Sebo.

The island

To plan what to see in La Graciosa, start with its size: it covers about 27 km² and is the largest island of the Chinijo Archipelago. It is part of the Chinijo Archipelago Natural Park, and its waters lie within the La Graciosa and Northern Lanzarote Islets Marine Reserve, created in 1995.

There are two settlements: Caleta de Sebo and Pedro Barba, the latter with no visitor services. The streets are sand and there are no paved roads: you get around on foot, by bike or by 4x4 taxi. Always stay on the marked trails.

Beaches of La Graciosa

Playa de Las Conchas

In the north, facing Montaña Clara. It has strong currents and swimming is often unsafe; there are no lifeguards.

Playa Francesa and Playa de la Cocina

Playa de la Cocina lies at the foot of Montaña Amarilla, with calm water; it is the best spot for snorkelling. Playa Francesa is in the same area.

Montaña Amarilla

A trail climbs to a viewpoint overlooking the coast.

Diving in La Graciosa

There are dive centres in Caleta de Sebo. Fishing and taking any species are prohibited in the marine reserve, and diving requires a permit, which the dive centre arranges for you.

Respect the marine reserve and natural park: don't take anything from the sea and stay on the marked trails.
